Terms and Conditions


Venue Hire Terms and Conditions:

  1. HIRE FEE:

    The venue hire fee of R15 000 / R7500 (calculated per hour excluding VAT) is payable in full 7 days prior to the event.

  1. BOOKING DEADLINE: La Vue will hold your booking for 5 days from date of quotation. La Vue reserves the right to release your booking should written confirmation and the deposit not be received before this date.

  1. DEPOSIT : A 50% deposit is required no later than 7 days after written confirmation of your function. This
    may be paid in cash, bank guaranteed cheque or electronic transfer to our bank account. Upon payment of
    the deposit, the deposit slip or receipt and signed quotation must be forwarded to La Vue. We reserve the
    right to release your booking should the deposit and/or signed quotation not be received within the 7 day
    period.

  1. CANCELLATION: Cancellation must be received in writing. The following cancellation charges apply:

Confirmation deposit – 5% refund on deposit

31 days prior the event -50 % of the total event cost

30 – 15 days prior the event – 60% of the total event cost

14 – 02 days prior the event – 75% of the total event cost

48 Hours or less to the event – Total event cost

  1. Final numbers for the catering must be confirmed 1 week before the function.

  1. You are only entitled to the respective level venue that you have hired on La Vue

  1. Any changes to the menu choice selected must be made 3 days prior to event. If any changes are accepted after this there may be additional charges levied due to availability of supplies.

  1. You shall be responsible for any damage caused to the allocated venue, furnishings, utensils and equipment caused by your employees and guests attending your event.

  1. You shall not be entitled to:

  • Paint, affix or attach anything to the venue without prior written consent of La Vue which consent should not be unreasonably withheld; or

  • Drive any screens or nails into the walls, floor, partition or doors of La Vue so as to cause damage to same.

  1. All day and evening functions must terminate by 16h30 and 00h00 respectively unless a later time is specifically agreed in writing with La Vue at the time of the booking. You will be liable to pay additional charges of R 7500 per hour if you/your guests fail to comply with these times in the absence of such consent.

  1. All contractors must liaise with the La Vue function coordinator within 7 days of the date of the function to arrange access times or any other requirements.

  1. It is your responsibility to advise us if you require us to hire linen in a colour of your choice so that we may obtain a quotation, which amount will be for your cost. Such Costs will be communicated in advance and are subject to agreement between both parties

  1. Please note that La Vue is in the possession of a liquor license and therefore prohibit any form of liquor to be brought onto the boat unless approved by the directors of La Vue.

  1. All décor is to be removed immediately after the function. If not removed, a takedown/removal fee of R2500 and storage fees charged at R 200 per day for goods left on the premises after the event and will be charged. La Vue will endeavour to exercise the necessary degree of care, diligence and skill that can reasonably be expected of a person responsible for managing any property belonging to another person. However La Vue /management and/or staff will not accept liability for any claim where they are not grossly negligent or wilfully cause the damage.

  2. Failure to collect goods within 90 days from date of notice be given will result in La Vue taking the necessary legal recourse to have the goods removed. La Vue reserves the right to obtain the necessary authorization to sell your goods in execution. The costs of obtaining such authorization will be for your account.

  3. La Vue shall not be liable for the death of, or bodily injury to your agents, guests, subcontractors (or their employees) or any persons visiting the allocated venue (whether or not such persons do so on behalf of, at the invitation of or at your request) where such loss, damage, death or injury occurs within the venue or in any part of boat and was not occasioned by any recklessness or negligence of La Vue.
  4. Please note that La Vue will at all times endeavour to sail, however should the weather conditions not be conducive or safe to do so, the vessel will remain at the mooring, and all guests will be entitled to a complementary cruise at a date of their convenience subject to La Vue’s availability.

Dinner Terms And Conditions:

La Vue endeavors to ensure that the highest standards are adhered to in the preparation of our foods for human consumption.  This includes, ensuring that our staff who prepare our food are tidy and clean at all times.

CANCELLATION: Cancellation must be received in writing or telephonically within 24 hours of the dinner
booking date. Should you miss the dinner seating your dinner booking will be forfeited.

We are open to receiving any legitimate / honest consumer complaints from our customers subject to the following:

  • The customer must read the Menu to ascertain whether or not any product/s contains any ingredients which the customer is allergic to.  The customer agrees that the business cannot be held liable for any harm caused as a result of his/her failure to read the Menu, prior to ordering / purchasing the goods.

  • The customer who is seated at La Vue’s Restaurant shall immediately inform the business/seller/waiter about any product that has been found to be harmful or defective or wanting in any other respect.

  • Subject to the Consumer Protection Act and or any other legislation, the business shall remedy the situation where any product is found to be harmful or defective or wanting in any other respect, in any of the following ways:
    • A cash refund to the customer;
    • Substituting the defective/damaged goods for new goods; or
    • Any other appropriate and mutually agreed manner.

La Vue shall not be liable for the death of, or bodily injury to your agents, guests, subcontractors (or their employees) or any persons visiting the allocated venue (whether or not such persons do so on behalf of, at the invitation of or at your request) where such loss, damage, death or injury occurs within the venue or in any part of boat and was not occasioned by any recklessness or negligence of La Vue.

It is the passenger/customer’s responsibility to notify La Vue, management or staff members about any allergens and /special dietary needs and/or foods that s/he and/or their guests are allergic to.
